Fundraising Progress

The initial Sutter Creek Fire History Projects were small in scope and were funded with small individual donations and some support from the Sutter Creek Fire District. The Amador Community Foundation and the City of Amador City supplied funding for the restoration of the Amador City 1939 Dodge fire truck and the development of the old Amador City firehouse as a fire museum.

To complete the full range of projects envisioned there is now a need for significant individual, foundation and corporate support in the form of monetary and material donations.

These projects will preserve and display the local fire and community history, and they will also act as a tourist attraction for Sutter Creek and Amador County as a whole.

Over the life of the Sutter Creek Fire History Projects since 2006, approximately $4,000 has been raised from individual donations, the Sutter Creek Fire District, the Amador Community Foundation, the City of Amador City and the Sutter Creek Volunteer Fire Department. More recently, the Projects have been given a pledge of general project seed money of $10,000 for the years 2015/2016 from a local donor. Other grants and donations are now coming in and are listed in the donor section and under specific projects.
